Micron Surges on Strong AI Growth, Boosts Revenue Forecast

 Micron wants companies that make PCs and smartphones to start ordering frequently this time. Many of them had cut back on demand to get rid of the stock they had kept on board. Because consumers declined to purchase many chips, prices dropped below what it cost to manufacture them a year ago. 

On Wednesday, the United States Ministry of Commerce declared it would give Intel Corp. up to $11 billion in financial assistance and $8.5 billion in incentives to help pay for the growth of the company’s semiconductor operations in the United States of America. It was the biggest grant from the Biden administration’s Chips and Science Act that had been given out so far. At this point, the prominent chipmakers have yet to offer officially assured assistance.  

 Micron stated that it will spend the same amount of money on new plants and tools in fiscal 2024: a total of $7.5 to $8 billion. It will move forward with plans in India, China, and Japan. Mehrotra claimed that Micron needs to get enough Chips funding, invest in tax incentives, and provide local benefits to help make up for the higher costs of expanding in the United States instead of globally.
