Takashi Kiryu, the firm’s new hotshot President, has doubled down on that sentiment. In a lengthy ‘New Year’s Letter from the President,’ Kiryu discussed the firm’s future, recent success, and the ambition to grow more aggressive in deploying AI.
Square Enix President Takashi Kiryu, who has held the position since June 2023, wrote a lengthy letter to all workers in which he discussed the company’s achievements in 2023 and its outlook toward 2024 and beyond.
He discussed everything from content production to publishing, as well as internal reorganization and evolution to fulfill the needs of investors all across the world.

Kiryu wrote about “becoming more AI-driven” as a company:
- “We also intend to be aggressive in applying AI and other cutting-edge technologies to both our content development and our publishing functions.”
- “In the short term, our goal will be to enhance our development productivity and achieve greater sophistication in our marketing efforts.”
- “In the longer term, we hope to leverage those technologies to create new forms of content for consumers, as we believe that technological innovation represents business opportunities.”
He mentioned plans to substantially invest in blockchain entertainment, “Web 3.0,” and artificial intelligence.
Square Enix has apparently outlined targets, and in 2024, the Group will begin to execute on these goals and “make greater strides forward and further growth.”
